BLAZON
Shield.  Gules, a key and lightning bolt in saltire Or, wards to sinister base, surmounted by a Roman gladius palewise Proper, point upwards, overall a hurt fimbriated of the second, bearing a compass rose of the last.

Crest.  From a wreath Or and Gules, the Eagle, Terrestrial globe and Anchor insignia of the United States Marine Corps of the first, continents Sable.

Supporters.  Behind the shield a Marine Corps Officers Mameluke and a Model 1859 Non-Commissioned Officers sword in saltire points downward Proper.

SYMBOLISM
Shield.  The Red (Marine Corps Scarlet) represents valiance, boldness, courage, hardiness, liberty, passion, patriotism and zeal.  Together, the Gold and Scarlet represent the institutional colors of the United States Marine Corps. Blue represents the Naval character of the sea services, the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy.  The key represents intelligence and logistics.  The lightning bolt represents communications as well as the delivery of non-lethal and lethal fire support. The Roman gladius is a symbol of strength and combat. The compass rose represents the omnipresent nature of the information environment within military operations at all levels of war.

Crest.  The Eagle, Globe and Anchor above the rolled and turned Gold and Marine Corps Red torse represents the organizational focus of II Marine Expeditionary Force, Information Group.

Supporters.  The Mameluke sword and Model 1859 Non Commissioned Officer sword represent the Marine Corps Officer and Enlisted warfighters.

Seal.  The coat of arms as blazoned in full color upon a blue disc edged with a yellow border, attached above a red scroll edged yellow inscribed INFORMATION GROUP and below, a dovetailed red scroll edged yellow, inscribed II MARINE EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, all yellow.
